In Uttar Pradesh, the Election Commission begins review of election preparedness for the coming state assembly elections, district wise from Saturday. The Chief Electoral officer of the state Umesh Sinha told our Lucknow correspondent that first review meeting is being organised today at Jhansi. Several poll related issues including distribution of Electoral Identity Cards, preparation of Voters' list with photographs and inclusion of names of missing eligible voters would be discussed in the meeting. Review of poll preparedness for districts under Aligarh division will be held on 24th of this month while election commission team will be at Lucknow on September 2. AIR correspondent reports that the Commission has deputed its 18 observers for all divisions of the state to keep eyes on voters list revision work. Publication of tentative voters list is scheduled on the 29th of next month and final voters list will be published on January 2 next year after removing objections.
