In Punjab, the Election Commission has prepared a CD of 17 short films in Punjabi to make the people realise the importance of voting. Showcasing these films, the Jalandhar Distt. Election Officer (DEO), Priyank Bharti said in Jalandhar that the films would be telecast on Jalandhar Doordarshan, local cable networks, cinema halls etc.The Films would also make the people aware of anyone advertising in favour of a candidate without the concerned candidate’s permission, which is liable for legal action. The Election meetings in religious places are illegal and one can still vote with the voter slip provided by an officer of Election Commission even if that person has misplaced his / her EPIC.
