The Election Commission has ordered the transfer of I.G of Tamil Nadu, South Zone S.S. Krishnamurthy. He has jurisdiction over Tiruchendur assembly constituency where by-election is to be held on the 19th of this month. The commission has communicated its decision to the state government and has directed Krishnamurthy to hand over charge to the Zonal IG nearest to South Zone. It may be recalled that Krishnamurthy was transferred earlier also when byelections were held in Tirumangalam assembly constituency in January last.<br/>
