Election Commission, EC, has ordered the transfer of Bihar's Home Secretary Amir Subhani, 9 District Magistrates and 7 police officials including Senior Superintendent of Police ahead of Assembly polls. In its order, the Commission said that those transferred from Districts should not be posted to any election-related post. The EC has appointed Sudhir Kumar Rakesh, an IAS officer of 1983 batch, as state's new Home Secretary.<br/><br/>As Mr. Subhani was also the Secretary in-charge of General Administration Department, the Commission said that the State government could post any other secretary-rank officer to this post. The order further said, Mr Subhani may be given any other assignment by the State government, as deem fit.<br/><br/>Pratima SK Verma has been appointed as the new District Magistrate of Patna and Vikas Vaibhav as SSP of Patna by the poll watchdog.<br/><br/>The Commission has sought a compliance report form the State Chief Secretary within 24 hours along with copies of transfer orders.
