The Election Commission has instructed the Bihar Government to shift 6 IAS and 5 IPS officers. These officers include Five District Magistrate three SPs one IG, One DIG and One Divisional Commissioner. AIR patna correspondent reports that the state government transferred these officers late night. DMs of Saran, Bettia, Lakhisarai, Vaishali and Munger were transferred. Similarly SPs of Kishanganj, Madhubani and Naughachia were shifted. IG of Muzaffarpur and DIG of Betia have also been shifted. Vivek Singh has been posted as new divisional Commissioner of Magadh.Meanwhile, the Congress has released the first list of 77 candidates for the Bihar assembly elections. The party has given ticket to 14 women in the list. State Congress President Mehboob Ali Kaiser has been fielded from Simri Bakhtiarpur. Among women, former MP Lovely Anand has been given the party ticket from Alamnagar.
