The Election Commission today issued a notice to Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal for an alleged violation of the Model Code of Conduct by seeking Muslim votes on grounds of religion.

The notice follows a complaint filed by BJP leader Harish Khurana, who objected to pamphlets being distributed by Kejriwal containing appeals to Muslim voters for their backing.

The Poll body has asked Kejriwal to file his reply by 25th of this month as to why action should not be initiated against him in this regard.
