The Election Commission of India has decided not to take any further action in the alleged violation of the Model Code of Conduct by Union Law Minister, Salman Khurshid.

The Commission took note of the fact that Mr. Khurshid has regretted the statement that he had made during the course of the election campaign in Uttar Pradesh, following the Commission censuring him.

The Commission today reviewed the matter in the light of the letter received from Mr. Khurshid.

The Commission has advised all the contending political parties and poll officials to be extremely careful during campaigning to avoid repeat of any such situation in future.
