The Election Commission has decided not to pursue the model code of conduct violation case against Bahujan Samaj Party leader Satish Chandra Mishra. The Commission after considering his reply in response to the notice relating to his speech seeking votes on the ground of caste, has taken lenient view in the matter.
The Commission hoped that Mishra will be careful not to violate the model code of conduct in future and would be more circumspect in his public utterances during election campaign.
