Congress has demanded action against Narendra Modi and the BJP from the Election Commission for supporting the hate speeches during election campaigns. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi today, party spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala alleged that the tweet of Modi is just an eyewash as he not only shared the stage but applauded the hate speech of Shiv Sena MLC Ram Dass Kadam against a particular community. He also asked Modi to tender public apology and expel Giriraj Singh and Amit Shah from the party.
On revelations by Cobra Post on anti sikhs riots of 1984, Congress spokesperson said, tragedy of 1984 was condemnable and party leaders have already expressed their regret on more than one occasion. He said leaders of BJP, RSS and an election agent of Vajpayee had also come under the lens of investigation besides some workers of Congress. He accused BJP-SAD alliance of politicising the issue for electoral gains.
