EC lays special emphasis on making poll process accessible for PWDs, weaker sections of society

<div>The Election Commission has laid special emphasis on making the poll process accessible for everyone one, particularly persons with disabilities and weaker sections of the society. Concluding the two-day visit of Madhya Pradesh ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections, Chief Election Commissioner O P Rawat told reporters in Bhopal yesterday that the Accessible Observers will be appointed for the first time apart from other regular Observers during the elections. <br />''<br />''He also said that the Commission has decided to set up at least one all-women managed polling station in all assembly constituencies for the first time in Madhya Pradesh. Replying to a question, Mr Rawat said the poll body has started many technological initiatives like Samadhan, Suvidha, Sugam e-atlas and  c-VIGIL apps, to facilitate the election process  as well as opportunity to  provide common citizen to complain directly about any misconduct during the election. </div>''<div></div>''<div>Besides Mr Rawat, Election Commissioners Sunil Arora, Ashok Lawasa also participated in the deliberations with political parties and state officials on holding of the Assembly elections in the state. </div>
