The Election Commission of India issued notification for conduct of Biennial elections to 6 seats of Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Council (MLCs) today. As per the notification, March 29 has been fixed last date of filing nomination, while as scrutiny of papers will be held on March 30 and the last date of withdrawal of candidature is April 3. Polling will be held on 17th of April. <br/><br/>Secretary Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly has been appointed Returning Officer, while as Deputy Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly has been appointed as Assistant Returning Officer for the conduct of the election. Among the six members, to be elected, three members each shall be from Kashmir and Jammu Provinces. Amongst the three members of Jammu Province one should be from Poonch District.
