The Election Commission has directed Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer Nareesh Gupta to hold a meeting with representatives of recognised political parties to discuss revising the schedule of the bye-election to the Pennagaram Assembly Constituency. The EC direction came after opposition parties sought postponement of the bye-election scheduled for January 20th in view of the Pongal festival. Mr. Gupta said that a meeting has been convened in the evening and he will send a report to the Election Commission.<br/>
