The Election Commission (EC) has instructed officials and security forces to take effective steps to ensure free and fair polls. The EC team headed by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sunil Arora reviewed preparations for 2019 Lok Sabha polls in Patna today. The 11-member election commission team, which is on two day tour to Patna today held discussions with Bihar Chief electoral officer and  nodal officer of state police and Central forces in the state. <br />'' <br />''Later representatives of all major political parties including BJP, JD(U), RJD, Congress and left parties met election commission team. During meeting, BJP has raised the issue of irregularities in electoral rolls. JD(U) said its party symbol is similar to the symbol of JMM and Shiv Sena so the commission should take proper steps in this regard.<br />''  <br />''The party said voters misguide due to similarity of symbols. RJD has demanded polling should be through ballot box in place of EVM. The Congress has demanded deployment of Central paramilitary forces on every booth.<br />''  <br />''Tomorrow the election commission team will hold a review meeting with Chief Secretary and Home Secretary besides state Director General of police. Sources said the poll panel team is likely to focus on taking feedback from state officials. <br />''<br />''Issues relating to requirement of Central forces to man more than 70 thousand polling booths in Bihar, updation of electoral rolls, condition of EVMs and strategies to curb black money in the elections are likely to be discussed. The commission is also likely to issue directions on installation of voter-verified paper audit trail machines with EVMs at all polling stations.<br />''<br />
