he Election Commission reviews poll preparedness in Uttar Pradesh today for forth coming Assembly elections.Two Election Commissioners including VS Sampath and HS Brahma have already reached at Lucknow while Chief Election Commissioner YS Quraishi will be reaching this morning.AIR Lucknow correspondent reports a full Commission will meet with senior state government officials and all district election officers and divisional commissioners.The Commission also meets with the representatives of different political parties during its one day visit to state capital.AIR correspondent reports that the Commission has identified more than 50 Assembly segments as expenditure sensitive where the Election Commission will monitor election expenditure more closely.The expenditure sensitive constituencies are identified on the basis of past history, profile of the constituency and the state Chief Election Commissioner’s reports.The EC team is expected to meet the Director General of Investigations Income Tax and his team to review the deployment of I-T officials in money sensitive' constituencies.The Commission, for the first time, has also asked the elite Financial Intelligence Unit FIU to sift through their records for any instance of information about the assets and liabilities of candidates participating in the polls.The Commission is also likely to discuss the menace of paid news and measures to check it during the poll.
