The Election Commission has given clearance for enrollment of labourers under MNAREGA even after announcement of election schedule for the assembly polls in Bihar. The state government has sought suggestions from Commission in this regard.In a letter addressed to the state government it has been directed if jobholders demand employment after completion of ongoing schemes they may be provided job under approved annual work plan . New schemes can be started from the approved annual work plan. Election Model code of conduct will not apply on the implementation of this scheme. If different schemes under annual work plan conclude the new annual work plan can be formulated after taking permission from the Election CommissionIn view of Election commission's direction, the state government has instructed the DMs to comply the order.
