The Election Commission has disapproved of BJP Prime Ministerial candidates Narendra Modi's remarks on the Congress election symbol. The Commission has asked him to be more careful in public discourse in future.

Mr Modi had termed the Congress election symbol as Khooni Panja at a rally in Dongargarh, Chhatisgarh on 7th of this month. The poll body had issued a notice to the BJP leader after a complaint by the Congress in this regard. Going through Mr. Modi's reply, the Commission said that it is not satisfied with the explanation furnished by him in reply to the notice.
