In Tamil Nadu, the flying squads set up by the election comission have been seizing unaccounted cash and articles throughout the State. The flying squads have seized more than ten crore rupees in cash and sarees. The Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Kumar told in Chennai that the officials also seized silver and gold articles worth more than one crore till the 16th of this month. He said, the seized cash and other items have been handed over to the Treasury and follow up action was being taken by District Election Officers. He added that the entire process of the seizure was videographed.
