EC directs to appoint booth level officers in West Bengal

The Election Commission has directed to appoint booth level officers for smooth conduct of forthcoming assembly poll in West Bengal. <br/><br/>Addressing newspersons in Kolkata today the Election Commission S.Y Quereshi said that each polling booth should have a local level officer to interact with voters and to solve their problem for smooth conduct of voting.<br/><br/>Mr. Quereshi also instructed to phase out auxiliary polling stations and to introduce polling booth upto maximum capacity of 12 hundred voters to reduced pressure on polling booths. <br/><br/>Mr. Quereshi and the other Election Commissioner Mr. V.S Sampat came to Kolkata on a day’s visit to review Assembly Election preparedness in West Bengal. <br/><br/>The two Election Commissioners reviewed the progress of issuing voters photo identity cards, preparation of photo electoral roll and revision of electoral roll in the State. Earlier, they inaugurated a photo Exhibition on Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the Election Commission in Kolkata this morning.
