EC directs Bihar MPs not to release MPLAD funds during Assembly polls

The Election Commission has directed, MPs of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha from Bihar not to release fresh Local Area Development Fund in view of assembly elections. In a letter addressed to the Chief secretary the commission further said no work will be started after notification of the elections. These work can start only after completion of poll process. However, if work has actually started, that can continue. There shall be no bar to the payment for completed works subject to the full satisfaction of the concerned officials. Meanwhile, after delimitation for the first time, two constituencies have been created under Scheduled Tribe ( ST) category. These are Manihari assembly constituency in Katihar district and Katoria assembly constituency in Banka district. Out of 243 assembly seats 38 constituencies are under Scheduled Caste( SC) category. AIR Correspondent reports, electorates are very much enthusiastic to cast their votes in tribal areas of the state.
