The Election Commission has decided to conduct ballot polling for Bye-election in 5 Assembly constituencies in Andhra Pradesh on 27th of this month. <br/><br/>The State Chief Electoral Officer I V Subba Rao told reporters this evening that out of 12 Assembly segments, polling in 5 segments would be held through Ballot paper as the number of candidates in the fray crossed 64. <br/><br/>Stating that conducting polling through one Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) would be difficult when more than 64 candidates are in the fray, he said the Electronic Voting Machines would be used in remaining 7 assembly segments as the number of candidates in the fray is less than 64. A total 435 candidates are contesting in the bye-elections.
