<br/><br/>Election Commission has censured BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj for his recent remarks on population control terming them as violation of Model Code of Conduct and Supreme Court directions. The Commission also warned the MP of stern actions if he violates model code in future. <br/><br/>Terming his reply to its notice as unsatisfactory, the poll body observed that any statement promoting enmity between different classes of society in connection with election on the grounds of religion is violative of the code. In its order, the poll panel said, it expects that Maharaj being a reputed political leader will be more circumspect in public utterances during elections.<br/><br/>Earlier during a meeting in Meerut, Maharaj, an MP from Unnao, had blamed a particular community for population increase, following which the Commission had issues notice to him.
