Election Commission has censured Union minister Beni Prasad Verma for his insulting remarks against BJP leader Narendra Modi.

The congress leader had during a rally in Kanpur on 20th of this month, described Modi as an absconder who committed a serious crime at the age of 20.

The Commission had served Beni Prasad a show cause notice for the remark against Modi. Going through Verma's explanation, the poll body censured him for violation of code of conduct and said further violation could result in banning his campaign activity.
