The Election Commission has asked the West Bengal Government to replace the Kolkata Police Commissioner Goutam Mohan Chakraborty as he has completed his three-year tenure. The Commission has also directed the Chief Electoral Officer of West Bengal, Sunil Gupta to send a three-member panel to select a new incumbent. As per the directive, the West Bengal Government on Wednesday sent a list with the names of three senior police officers to the Chief Electoral Officer which will be referred to the Commission for consideration.
