The Election Commission has announced poll schedule for by elections to 3 Lok Sabha seats and 12 assembly seats in several states. Lok Sabha seats are Srinagar and Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir and Malappuram in Kerala. <br/><br/>Assembly seats are spread over Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand , Sikkim and Delhi. Nomination will begin from 14th of this month with 21st March last date for filing nomination. Scrutiny will take place on 22nd and nominations can be withdrawn upto 24th of March. Polling will take place on 9th of April and counting will be held on 13th.<br/><br/>For Lok Sabha constituency of Kerala and assembly seats of Tamil Nadu and Sikkim, notification will be issued on 16th of March, last date of nomination will be 23rd and scrutiny will be held on 24th and 27th is the last date for withdrawal of nominations. <br/><br/>Voting will be held on 12th of April 2017 and counting of votes will done on 17th of April. By elections to Lok Sabha seats in Jammu and Kashmir will be held in two phases. For Srinaagar constituency, polling will be held on 9th of April while Anantnag will go to polls on 12th. <br/><br/>Counting will take place on 15th of April in both the Lok Sabha constituencies. Polling notification for Srinagar will be issued on 14th of March, while for Anantnag 17th of March.<br/><br/>The Model Code of Conduct shall come into force with immediate effect in the district in which the whole or any part of the Parliamentary and Assembly Constituencies going for bye-elections is included. <br/><br/>The Model Code of Conduct shall be applicable to all candidates, political parties and the State Governments concerned. It shall also be applicable to the Union Government for the States concerned.
