Easter Sunday, one of the holiest festivals of Christians, is being celebrated across the globe with enthusiasm. Easter commemorates the Resurrection of Jesus after his Crucifixion. In India it is celebrated with religious fervor. In Nagaland, since the crack of dawn, believers irrespective of denominations thronged the historic War Cemetery to take part in the Easter sunrise service. Reports about Easter celebrations have come in from Goa, Kerala and Mumbai and other parts of the country. Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has greeted the people on the holy occasion. In a message, Dr Singh said the celebration of Jesus Christ’s resurrection marks the triumph of truth, justice and love over despair, hatred and destruction.
