East Zone have entered the Duleep Trophy semi-finals by defeating West Zone by 102 runs on the fourth and final day at Lahli, Haryana on Saturday.West were bundled out for just 135 in their second innings while chasing a victory target of 238 at the Bansi Lal Cricket Stadium. For East Zone, pacers Ashok Dinda and Basant Mohanty shared seven wickets between them. Dinda ripped through the top order, claiming three wickets for 40 runs, while Mohanty took care of the tail, by taking four wickets for 44 runs. Resuming the day on 12 for one, requiring another 226 runs for a win on Saturday, West struggled against the pace attack of the East. West second innings lasted less than 40 overs during the day. East will take on South in the second semifinal at Lahli next Wednesday, while Central will meet North in the first semifinal at Mohali, also on Wednesday.
