Earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.2 jolted northeastern Japan

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.2 jolted northeastern Japan early today. The epicenter of the quake, which occurred at 8:31 a.m. local time, was located some 20 km under the sea off the coast of Iwate Prefecture. There was no immediate report of any casualties or damage to properties. And no tsunami warning was issued.
