In Indonesia, an earthquake of six point three magnitudes struck the Sumatra Island today. The United States Geological Survey said there are no immediate reports about damage or casualties. The USGS put the epicentre of the quake 137 kilometres west-southwest of the port city of Bengkulu, in southern Sumatra, and at a depth of 18.1 kilometres. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre issued a bulletin saying there was no threat of a destructive widespread tsunami from the quake.
