Earthquake of 5.6 magnitude hits N Zealand's North Island

An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale shook much of New Zealand's North Island on Friday afternoon. New Zealand's state geological agency said the quake was centered 10 kilometers east of the central North Island town of Tokoroa at a depth of 200 kilometres. The agency said the quake was widely felt in the North Island and there were no reports of casualties or damages.
