An earthquake of moderate intensity hit northeast region of Japan today. Japan Meteorological Agency said the quake of 5.2 intensity on Richter Scale hit the country at 11: 30 a.m. The epicenter of the quake was 10 km under the sea off the coast of Akita Prefecture of the Tohoku region. There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties. No tsunami warning has been issued.
