Earthquake of 5.1 magnitude strikes Indonesia

In Indonesia, an earthquake measuring 5.1 magnitude struck today off North Sulawedi in the eastern part of the country. According to the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency, the quake jolted at 0803 a.m. (local time) with the epicentre at 72 kilometres southeast of Melonguane at a depth of 31 kilometres. Indonesia sits on a vulnerable quake-hit zone called the Pacific Ring of Fire where two continental plates meet, that cause frequent seismic and volcanic movements.
