An earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale jolted Bonin Islands, Japan region this morning. The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake struck at 7:49:38 a.m. local time, 146 kilometres from Chichi-Shima, Bonin Islands with a depth of 10 kilometres. There was no immediate report of any damages or injuries. The quake followed a 7.4-magnitude one, which hit the same region the previous day and triggered tsunami alert.
