A 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck off northern Taiwan today. The island's Seismology Centre said the quake hit at 3:56 am( local time) 11 kilometres north of the city of Ilan at a depth of 102 kilometres. It said there were no immediate reports of damage and no tsunami warning was issued.
