An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale jolted near the north coast of New Guinea, Papua New Guinea on Monday. The U.S. Geological Survey said the epicenter, with a depth of 34.90 kilometer, was initially determined to be at 3.6778 degrees south latitude and 144.0503 degrees east longitude. There were no reports of any damage.
