In Iran, more than 100 people have been injured in an earthquake of a magnitude of 5.7, which jolted the city of Torbat-e Heydarieh in Iran's north-eastern Khorasan Razavi Province. According to Iranian channel Press TV, the earthquake took place last evening and rocked the city for about 10 seconds, causing excessive telecom disconnections. Torbat-e Heydarieh's Governor Mojtaba Sadeqian said 110 people were injured in the moderate earthquake. Officials said that a large number of people are trapped under the rubble, and the casualties are expected to be high. It is estimated that houses in the city's rural areas had sustained 50 to 80 percent damage.
