An earthquake of 5.6 magnitude rocked Assam and other parts of Northeastern India this morning triggering panic among residents. No casualties have been reported. According to Regional Seismological Centre in Shillong, tremors epicentred in Myanmar were felt at 4.50 this morning in most parts of Northeast India. The Seven Northeastern states are considered by seismologists to be the sixth most earthquake-prone belt in the world.
