A moderate intensity earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale today shook Kashmir valley,causing panic among the residents but there were no reports of any damage due to it.The tremor was felt at 7.30 pm in most parts of Kashmir, triggering panic among the residents who rushed out of their homes . An official of the Meteorological Department said the epicentre of the earthquake was in Hindukush mountain range in Afghanistan. Officials of the disaster management cell said so far there were no reports of any damage or casualty due to the tremor.
