The death toll in the Sunday's Earthquake in Sikkim has now risen to 82 with the North district alone accounting for 65 deaths. State Chief Minster Mr Pawan Chamling is currently at the North district headquarters Managan to have an on the spot assessment of the relief and recue works. He also visited the damaged Rigjing Choeling Monastery and met the injured persons at the District hospital.
All the roads in Sikkim are now open for vehicular traffic barring those beyond Toong on the Managn-Chungthang road.The BRO has deployed 50 heavy machines and three thousand workers to restore the road connectivity.The Organisation is also working round the clock to open the Gangtok-Nathula Road for traffic.
