Earth Quake: PM takes stocks of situation, IAF aircraft rushed

The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh spoke to the Chief Minister of Sikkim and assured him of all help in the wake of earthquake. He also directed the cabinet secretary to call an emergency meeting of National Disaster Management Authority to take stock of the situation. Two IAF aircraft were rushed from Hindon to Bagdogra and one from Plam Airport to Bagdogra. Another aircraft was rushed to Bagdogra from Kolkata carrying personnel of National Disaster Rescue Force (NDRF ) along with equipment for rescue measures. The four rescue teams of 160 members are being taken from Bagdogra to Gangtok by road.
