The External Affairs Ministry has taken measures to provide passport to every citizen at his doorstep. <br/><br/>Speaking to newsmen in Hyderabad today, Secretary – Consular Passport, Visa and Overseas Indian Affairs, Dnyaneshwar M. Mulay said, the ministry has recently relaxed rules in date of birth and single mothers to get passports easily. <br/><br/>He said, the ministry would maintain constant interaction with state governments in order to serve the people in India and foreign shores. <br/><br/>The ministry has introduced e-mother and e-migrate portals to help NRIs and blue collar workers in gulf and elsewhere in the world. <br/><br/>He informed that services of Post Offices will be utilized in the country to issue passports and added that pilot projects are going on in Gujarat and Karnataka to this effect. <br/><br/>The Secretary said, a Videsh Bhavan will be established in Hyderabad for which Chief Minister has agreed to provide land. <br/><br/>Dr Dnyaneshwar said, Telangana Chief Minister evinced interest in organizing Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas in Hyderabad. <br/>He said, the ministry has issued 1.3 crore passports during the last year in the country.
