External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will visit Myanmar on Monday. This will be the first major political exchange between India and Myanmar after swearing in of the new National League for Democracy Government led by Daw Aung San Suu Kyi in the neghbouring country.<br/><br/>During the visit, she will call on U Htin Kyaw, President of Myanmar and hold discussions with Aung San Suu Kyi, State Councellor and Foreign Minister of Myanmar. Discussions are expected to focus on the rich bilateral content of the relationship as well as plans for the upcoming BRICS-BIMSTEC Outreach Summit in India. <br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that India and Myanmar share close relations with a robust development cooperation programme in different areas including agriculture, IT, human resource development, infrastructure development and culture.<br/><br/>The visit reaffirms India's commitment to heightened partnership with Myanmar in areas accorded priority by the new Government of Myanmar.
