EAM Sushma Swaraj reaches Nepal to attend 15th BIMSTEC meeting

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has arrived in Kathmandu to participate in 15th BIMSTEC Ministerial Meeting. She was received at the airport by Indian Ambassador to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri and other senior officials. <br/><br/>During the two day meeting foreign ministers of member countries will review the progress in identified fourteen areas of cooperation and discuss ways to accelerate cooperation under the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) process. <br/><br/>Mrs. Swaraj will call on President Vidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba in the evening.<br/><br/>Our Kathmandu correspondent reports that keeping in view the PM Deuba's forthcoming visit to India, External Affairs Minister's meeting with him assumes significance. <br/><br/>Both the leaders are expected to discuss various bilateral and regional issues. Later she will attend inaugural session of the BIMSTEC Ministerial Meeting to be inaugurated by PM Deuba. Participating ministers will also jointly call on Nepalese Prime Minister.
