External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar has reached Colombo on Thursday in the second leg of the two nation visit. The visit to the island nation comes at a crucial time as Sri Lanka has been making efforts to obtain an extended fund facility from International Monetary Fund. Dr. Jaishankar is scheduled to meet the Sri Lankan leadership and hold discussions with Foreign Minister Ali Sabry.<br />'' <br />''Earlier, Dr. Jaishankar concluded his two-day Official Visit to the Maldives. The visit marked a significant milestone in strengthening the bilateral relations of the two countries. The Minister underlined the strong partnership India has with Maldives and said that the two countries together have a responsibility for peace and security in the region. Dr. Jaishankar inaugurated the Foakaidhoo community centre which has been completed with Indian grant assistance. During the visit, he also attended the groundbreaking ceremony of Hanimaadhoo International Airport Development Project being developed under the Indian line of credit. Three significant MoUs were also finalised during the visit.
