Former Managing Director of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) E Sreedharan today said that he will head the Kochi Metro Rail project, if it is entrusted with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. Speaking to media persons in Kochi after visiting the sites where the preparatory works for the project are going on, Mr. Sreedharan said the Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL), the company formed to execute the project, lacked experience to implement such projects. He said the delay in completing the project can be avoided and project cost can be brought down if it is entrusted with DMRC. He pointed out that the project is not getting sufficient co-operation from KMRL and the State Electricity Board.The former DMRC MD is scheduled to hold discussions with the State Chief Minister and other officials in Thiruvananthapuram tomorrow.
