The Development Working Group – DWG of the G20 today held discussions on  'Accelerating Progress on the Sustainable Development Goals'.<br />''<br />''The second day of the three-day meeting being held in Mumbai began with a video message by India's Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra, who highlighted India's responsibility as the voice of the Global South to accurately represent the multifaceted interests of the developing nations of the world.<br />''<br />''It was followed by India's DWG co-chairs, Joint Secretaries Mr. Nagaraj Naidu and Ms. Eenam Gambhir, who outlined India's agenda, including the impact of current disruptions in food, energy, and financial markets.<br />''<br />''The widespread discussions included topics like digital transformation, green transitions, and women-led development.  Mr Federico Bonaglia, representing the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, informed delegates that addressing gender discrimination will add six trillion dollars to the global GDP.<br />''<br />''On the other hand, Mr. Moustapha Kamal Gueye, representing the International Labour Organisation said, transitioning to a circular economy has the potential to create 100 million green jobs by 2030. He further highlighted the need to align climate and development policies to ensure sustained economic growth.<br />''<br />''Countries also discussed existing frameworks, and bottlenecks, for accessing sustainable finance, the need to strengthen efforts to achieve gender equality through employment, education, and steps needed to bridge digital divides globally.<br />''<br />
