In Odisha, three persons were injured when eight bogies of the ‘Durg – Puri Express’, derailed near Nuapada station last night.According to Chief PRO, East Coast Railway, Rabi Narayan Mahapatra, Durg-Puri Intercity Express train derailed around 9 pm between Lakhana and Nuapada station, 117 kms away from Raipur .The spokesperson said that 8 out of 15 coaches derailed and rail services on Raipur -Titilagarh route has been affected. He said the cause of the derailment is not yet known. The injured have been admitted at District Headquarter Hospital , Nuapada.The East Coast Railway Sambalpur Division has dispatched medical and rescue team to the incident spot.Nuapada district administration also engaged three ambulance vans to bring injured people to district hospital. Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Sambalpur Division, rushed to the spot along with senior officers for monitoring the relief and rescue operation.The local people of the area are also rendering help for rescue of the passengers from the derailed bogies. The railway authority has made some arrangement to send all the passengers to their respective destination. The derailment resulted diversion of some trains in this route.The Railways has set up a helpline for relatives of the passengers.
