Army Green defeated NorthEast United FC at Guwahati's Indira Gandhi Athletic stadium by 3-1 in Durand Cup Football. It was NorthEast United FC second consecutive defeat in the tournament. In the second match, the winning streak of the local giants Mohammedan Sporting continued as they defeated Jamshedpur FC 3-0 at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan. Jamshedpur FC put up a strong fight but it was the superior Mohammedan FC who got the better of them with better possession and smarter strategy throughout.
