Due to closure of schools during Covid-19 pandemic, cash is reimbursed to enrolled children in DBT form instead of Mid-Day Meal by States/UTs: Govt

<span style="color: #222222;">The Centre today said, due to closure of schools during the current Covid-19 pandemic, cash is being reimbursed to all enrolled children in the form of DBT instead of hot cooked Mid-Day Meal.<br />'' <br />'' In a written reply to the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Education Annpurna Devi informed that since the schools are closed, the children are being given dry ration or food security allowance in DBT form by the states and Union Territories for the period of 2020-21 and 2021-22.<br />'' <br />'' The Minister said, the DBT allowance comprises the cost of food grains and cooking.
