The passengers and crew members of an Emirates Flight from Dubai to Kochi had a providential escape when it hit an air pocket over Goa airspace on Sunday morning. The Boeing 777 aircraft flying at about 20,000 feet lowered its altitude and landed at the Kochi airport safely. Some of the air passengers were thrown off from their seats when the air craft hit the air pocket. 20 of them suffered minor injuries and were given first aid on their arrival at the Cochin International Airport at Nedumbassery. There were 350 passengers and 14 crew members in the aircraft. The aircraft also suffered damages.
