World's second youngest Grandmaster ever Parimarjan Negi outwitted Armenian Grandmaster Hrant Melkumyan to take the joint lead in the Dubai International Open chess tournament in Dubai. Tejas Ravichandran crashed to his third defeat in last three games when he was beaten by Csaba Balogh of Hungary. Grandmaster R R Laxman went down fighting against Eltaj Safarli of Azerbaijan. In an upset result among the Indians, International Master Sahaj Grover was beaten by Abhishek Kelkar who stands a little over 200 points behind on the rating list.
